LUFC Kenny, Becchio and Austin unlikely to travel

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says Luciano Becchio and Paddy Kenny are unlikely to travel to Norway next week as the duo continue to recover from injuries and new signing Rodolph Austin is also unlikely to make the trip.

Becchio turned an ankle at Tavistock last Monday, ruling him out of the games with Bodmin and Torquay and Warnock is planning on leaving him at Thorp Arch and preferring him to build his fitness rather than risk him against Norwegian side Sandefjord on Wednesday night.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "Luciano is fit again now. We might not take him to Norway. We might give him two or three sessions a day in training."

Kenny has been suffering with a thigh injury since the game with Tavistock on Monday. The new keeper was also rested for the games with Bodmin and Torquay and Warnock says it is not worth risking his new goalkeeper in pre-season. "We are not going to get a better time to rest him. I think we might leave him behind next week as well and build up to it. It is a thigh injury and we don`t want to do anything silly. I think he`s got a great chance of being fit for the Preston game," added Warnock.

Fellow new goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown played the games at Bodmin and Tavistock following his signing from Portsmouth at the beginning of last week.

Austin has agreed a three-year deal at Elland Road from Norwegian side SK Brann, with Leeds still waiting for a work permit for the Jamaican international.

Warnock cannot see him making the trip but he is hopeful that he will play in the friendlies at Preston and Burton. "He will not be with us next week; he might be alright for Preston. I definitely want him to try to get a couple of games in if I can. He has been playing so he isn`t lacking in match fitness and should fit straight in," continued Warnock.

The Leeds boss Neil Warnock did confirm that fellow new signing David Norris would be travelling to Norway after completing his move from Portsmouth.
