Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he would like to keep Ross McCormack at the club.
Last season`s leading goalscorer at the club, looks to be on his way out after turning down the offer of a new deal, as he moves into the final year of his current contract with the club.
McCormack was on target twice on Friday night in Leeds 2-1 pre-season win at Torquay and Warnock says he doesn`t want the Scottish international striker to leave the club.
Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "There have been a couple of clubs ask about buying him but we don`t want to sell him unless there is a player exchange.
"I would rather keep him and Ross knows that. I think we will have to play it by ear. If Ross starts to enjoy himself, which I think he is then we will see how it goes.
"We can`t lose players like Snodgrass and McCormack with replacing them, where would the goals come from?"
McCormack scored 19 goals last season and there has been plenty of attention for the striker from other clubs this summer.
Huddersfield, Crystal Palace, Bristol City, Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers and Wolves have all been linked with the 25 year old who signed for Leeds in the summer of 2010 from Cardiff City.
There has also been talk of a deal with Brighton and Hove Albion that would see Craig Mackail-Smith come to Leeds in a swap deal.
