LUFC Three players on Warnock's radar

LUFC Three players on Warnock's radar

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says there are three players firmly on his radar including Leicester City defender Lee Peltier.

Warnock has been busy in the transfer market this week, signing five players whilst Robert Snodgrass has left to join Norwich City.

The Leeds boss is now targeting a right back and striker to compliment his squad. Leicester right back Lee Peltier has been strongly linked with a move to Elland Road all summer and Warnock admits he is one of the players he is keen to see arrive. We've made enquiries about a few.

'There's three on the radar and Lee is one of them so we'll see what happens. I'm sure we'll pull a full back in over the next week,'
said the Leeds boss on the official website

.

Warnock is also keen to strengthen his forward line with last season`s leading goalscorer Ross McCormack unlikely to remain with Leeds.

McCormack has refused the offer of a new deal as he goes into the final year of his contract and the club may look to cash in on the player who scored 19 goals last season. There have already been a number of clubs enquire about the Scottish international.

With Davide Somma still recovering from the knee surgery he underwent last summer, Luciano Becchio missing already missing part of pre-season with injuries, Warnock is looking pretty thin on the ground in the striker department.

Leeds have been linked with a number of strikers in recent weeks. Nicky Maynard (West Ham), Jay Bothroyd (QPR), Craig Mackail-Smith (Brighton) and Johnny Russell (Dundee United) have all been linked with a move to Elland Road.

Warnock is hoping that a new striker coming into the club will be in the near future, with just four games, including tonight at Torquay, left in pre-season. 'There's been a lot of names.

'We've already discussed what type of striker we're looking for, but there aren't many that tick every box so we're going to have to do the best we can.

'I'll be glad when we sign another striker, and hopefully that will be around the corner,"
continued Warnock.

The Leeds boss promised major surgery to the squad he inherited last season.

So far, Warnock has brought in nine players this summer, whilst five were released at the end of last season. There is still five on the transfer list with Andy O`Brien and Billy Paynter closing in on moves away from Elland Road.

Warnock has also seen Andy Lonergan, Adam Clayton and Robert Snodgrass for a fee.

The new season is now just two weeks away when Leeds kick off against Shrewsbury Town in the League Cup on August 11th.

The championship season kicks off a week later when Leeds host Wolverhampton Wanderers.
