A look back at what happened on July 27th in recent history at Leeds United.

2006
Leeds United youngster Ben Parker joins Bradford City on loan. Parker moved to Valley Parade on a six-month loan deal to gain some first team experience.

Rob Hulse and Ian Bennett both completed their moves to Sheffield United.

Hulse moved for an initial £2.2m rising to £3m with add-ons, and Bennett moved for an undisclosed fee.

Hulse scored 20 goals in 51 appearances for Leeds and Bennett played for the Whites 4 times.

2009
Simon Grayson warned his players not to get complacent ahead of the new season.

United had so far put in some mixed performances in pre-season.

In their last game they probably put in their best performance when dominating Premiership side Blackburn Rovers for long periods.

The previous week Grayson admitted that he tore into his side at half time after a poor performance in the first 45 minutes at Grimsby Town.

Grayson told the squad when they returned from their summer break and ready for pre-season that it was a fresh start for the whole squad with all places up for grabs.

Speaking in the YEP Grayson said 'I've got a rough outline of what might happen but I really have given the players the opportunity to influence that and to shine.'
