Snodgrass jumped at the chance to join Norwich

Robert Snodgrass says he jumped at the chance to join Norwich City after joining the club on a three-year deal today.

Snodgrass said the opportunity to play in the Premier League does not come around too often and he could not wait to join the club. Speaking on the Norwich City official website, Snodgrass said, "Sometimes this window of opportunity does not come about too often, and I jumped at the chance."

Snodgrass will join up once again with his former Leeds teammates Bradley Johnson and Johnny Howson, who both joined Norwich last season and helped the Norfolk club cement their place in their first season back in the Premier League.

The Scotland international winger says he is now looking to help Norwich finish as high up the table as he can. "What Norwich did in the Premier League last season speaks for itself. Bradley Johnson and Johnny Howson kicked on for Leeds, and when you look at that, you think 'I want to be part of it` and try to get Norwich as far up the table as they can possibly go," added Snodgrass.

Snodgrass had been offered a new deal by Leeds boss Neil Warnock at the end of last season. The offer would have made him the best-paid player at Elland Road, as Warnock looked to build his squad around the influential winger.

Leeds initially turned down an offer from Norwich last week before agreeing a deal this week after Norwich returned with an improved offer.

Snodgrass left Leeds touring party in Devon and Cornwall on Wednesday to meet up with the representatives of Norwich to sort out his personal terms.

He made his last appearance for Leeds was in Monday`s 6-0 win at Tavistock.

Howson, Johnson and Snodgrass all now playing in the Premier League with Norwich. Beckford and Gradel also allowed to leave. Is this Bates departing shot to totally rip apart the side that helped us win promotion from League One.

Sounds to me like the players themselves wanted out and with Bates happy to take the money it makes both happy. Snodgrass could have been more diplomatic trowards Leeds but probably too much to expect these days
erni
they are gone no point dragging up bad memory's we just gotta face facts and look to the future instead of dwelling on the past

If Bates wanted Snodgrass to leave why did Leeds offer Snodgrass the best contract in the team?

In the end Warnock was fighting a loosing battle to try keep him. Like NW said Snodgrass had his head turned, no doubt Snodders will have been chatting to Howson/Johnson & they will have been selling the club to him. I'm sure NW would have been great for Snodgrass. I personally would have liked him to stay on untill Xmas and see how we were doing, NW said if things didnt go as expected he would help him get his move. Its such a damn shame as things maybe looking up at ER very soon & I would to have liked Snodgrass to have been a part of our success if we get any this season but he jumped at the first chance he got. As they say the grass aint always greener on the other side, with Lambert moving on to Villa I cannot see Chris Hughton repeating last years success for Norwich. It would be lovely if we went up and Norwich got relegated. But having said that I would like Leeds to go for Templeton now which would be a great replacement and we would still have a few quid left to spend. MOT
