LUFC Warnock to make decision on Cranie

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he will sit down and talk with trialist Martin Cranie after the Torquay game this Friday.

The defender who was released by Coventry City at the end of last season after coming to the end of his contract has been training with Leeds since the start of pre-season.

Cranie completed 90 minutes in the win over Bodmin Town this evening and he has featured in all three of Leeds pre-season games so far.

Speaking after the win over Bodmin, Warnock said that the plan is to sit down with the player after the game with Torquay on Friday. Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "I said we would talk after the game at Torquay. He has come down for a week with us so I plan to sit down and talk to him after that."

The versatile defender, who can play anywhere across the back four, made 120 appearances for Coventry during three years at the Ricoh Arena.

He started his career with Southampton, coming through their academy and he made his debut against Chelsea in 2004 as a 17 year old.

After struggling to break into the Southampton side, where he made 25 appearances in three seasons he joined South coast rivals Portsmouth on a free transfer.

He made just 5 appearances in two seasons at Fratton Park before signing for Coventry in 2009.

During his time at Southampton and Bournemouth, he also had short loan spells at Bournemouth, Yeovil, QPR and Charlton.

Cranie has also represented England at under 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 levels

Leeds boss Neil Warnock has already signed one trialist after giving a one-year contract to Andy Gray earlier this week.
