LUFC Varney off the mark in Leeds win

Leeds eased to a 4-0 win at Bodmin Town in their latest game in pre-season.

Jamie Ashdown and Luke Varney made their first starts for Leeds.

Trialist Martin Crainie once again started the game in defence.

Goalkeeper Paddy Kenny and striker Luciano Becchio were both missing for Leeds through injury.

It was Varney who opened the scoring for Leeds when he headed home a Paul Green cross.

Andy Gray scored his third goal of pre-season five minutes before half time and Ross McCormack scored his first goal from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time, as Leeds went in 3-0 ahead.

Aidy White scored his second goal of pre-season early in the second half to make it 4-0.

Martin Crainie had a goal disallowed and Nathan Turner head a shot that clipped the top of the crossbar as Leeds looked for a fifth.

Another good work out for the Leeds players. They now prepare for their final game of their tour of Devon and Cornwall at Torquay United on Friday night.
