Warnock not sure Norwich move best for Snodgrass

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock believes a move to Norwich City for Robert Snodgrass might not be the best for the player.

Warnock was desperate to keep hold of the influential winger and had offered him a new deal that would have made him the best paid player at the club.

The Leeds boss had asked Snodgrass to give him one more year and Warnock believes it would not have hurt his career to stay at Elland Road.

Snodgrass is on his way to meet up with officials of Norwich after the two clubs agreed a fee for him and Warnock feels Snodgrass might have been better off remaining with Leeds.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "I am not sure it is a great move for him, if I am being honest.

"I think another year would not have hurt him at the level we are at. He is not guaranteed to get regular games in the Norwich side."

Warnock made Snodgrass his team captain after arriving at Elland Road in February and he was looking to build a side around him as he looked to win Leeds promotion back to the Premier League.

He knows that losing Snodgrass will make the task of leading Leeds to promotion that much more difficult but he will now look to replace him with a player of similar quality. "The one player I wanted to keep above anyone else was Robert Snodgrass.

"Losing him will make my job quite a lot harder, but it is not impossible.

"Behind the scenes we are working hard to bring in players and we have to make sure we cover for the loss of Rob with players with the quality that he has got,"
added Warnock.

Snodgrass is now on his way to meet up with Norwich officials to talk personal terms, after the two clubs agreed a fee for the Scottish international.

He's saying it will help his international chances, who give a **** about the Scotland team its gash anyway. If Scotland win a game its a f*****g miracle. I'd love to see Norwich go down now, even if Snodgrass sign's or not. [Edited by Dazza71]

I agree, I hope Norwich do go down now too. Why would anyone class a relegation battle as ambition and moving forwards. I have to think it's down to wages. However Snoddy did say he was going to wait and see what ambition Leeds were going to show this close season and to be honest have we shown much ambition in our signings? Kenny and Austin (if he signs) maybe, I'm not so sure about the others and we don't really know what is happening with takeover!
