LUFC Green in Ireland squad

New Leeds United signing Paul Green has been included in the Republic of Ireland squad for their friendly with Serbia next month.

Ireland will travel to Serbia for the game in Belgrade on Wednesday August 15th as they build up to their World Cup qualifiers starting in September against Kazakhstan.

Green has only just returned to pre-season training having taken part in the Euro 2012 finals in Poland and Ukraine. The midfielder made one substitute appearance against Spain as Ireland lost all three of their group games.

His call up for the international means Green will be away from the Leeds squad as they prepare for their opening championship fixture on the Saturday against Wolves, with him not likely to return to training with Leeds until the eve of the game.

Also included in the squad are former Leeds players Darren O`Dea and Andy Keogh.
