LUFC Warnock working players hard

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock is looking to give all his squad some time on the pitch as they start their pre-season campaign at Farsley Celtic this evening.

Leeds fans will get their first opportunity to see summer signings Jason Pearce, Adam Drury, Paul Green and Paddy Kenny.

Warnock will be working the players hard today, with the players turning out at Thorp Arch this morning for a training session.

The Leeds boss has always based his sides on their fitness and ability to keep going and he is looking to put them through their paces ahead of the new season. Speaking on the official website, Warnock said, "I want them to work hard. They will be working Friday morning as well.

"It`s not a rest and a game, it will be like the second training session of the day."

Warnock is expected to use those players he wants to remain at Elland Road next season.

Tomorrow a Leeds XI will play at Alfreton Town with a squad likely to be made up of youngsters and those players on the transfer list.

Following the game with Farsley this evening, the Leeds squad will prepare for their five-day tour of Cornwall and Devon next week.

Leeds will play Tavistock (Monday), Bodmin (Wednesday) and Torquay United (Friday) before heading off to Norway the following week for a friendly with Sandefjord.

The whites then return to England for friendlies at Preston North End and Burton Albion before starting the season with their League Cup clash at Elland Road on Saturday August 11th against Shrewsbury Town.
