LUFC On this day July 15th - Unfinished business

A look back at what has happened at Leeds United on July 15th in recent history.

2008

Experienced defender Paul Telfer is having a trial at the club and he joins up with Leeds boss Gary McAllister on the clubs pre-season tour in Ireland.

2009
Jermaine Beckford is on target twice as Leeds draw 2-2 with League of Ireland side Shelbourne in pre-season.

Beckford had fired Leeds into a two-goal lead but Shelbourne scored twice in the opening minutes of the second half.

Goalkeeper Alan Martin is being linked with a move to League Two side Accrington Stanley having spent much of the previous season on loan at Barrow (He signed for Stanley on August 1st).

The League One clash with Norwich City is moved to Monday October 19th and will be shown live on Sky TV.

2010
Leeds youngster Tom Elliott joins League Two side Rotherham United on loan until the New Year.

2011
Leeds boss Simon Grayson says he is going to give Honduran international Ramon Nunez a chance to shine in pre-season having failed to break into the side the previous season. Nunez starred in the opening pre-season win over Falkirk.

Having recently signed a new two-year deal with the club, Patrick Kisnorbo says he is ready to get his career back on track after 14 months out with an Achilles injury. Speaking after playing in the opening pre-season win at Falkirk, Kisnorbo said, 'In a way I`ve got unfinished business at Leeds.

'My first season here was a good one but it feels like a long time ago now.

'I`d like to make more of a mark. I`m grateful for the way the club looked after me and I`m grateful that they`ve given me another two years. I`ll do what I can to pay them back.'

Kisnorbo been a good player for us at times...

He was awful last season and after another six months out he will be even slower. Shame really because he was awesome before his injury against Millwall in his first season.
