LUFC Plenty of interest in McCormack

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says the club have had a number of enquiries from other clubs about striker Ross McCormack.

Last season`s leading goalscorer with 19 goals turned down the offer of a new deal with the club this summer and Warnock is willing to listen to offers for the striker.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Warnock said, "There`s been three or four enquiries for Ross from clubs and they are all keen to sign him.

"I`m going to try and do what`s best for the club, but until something happens where I think the club benefits, at the moment Ross is training with us. And he understands the situation."

McCormack made a slow start to his Elland Road career after signing from Cardiff City in August 2010.

He failed to score in his first 19 games for the club, although the vast majority came from the substitutes bench. McCormack finally netted his first goal for the club in the penultimate game of the season against Burnley and he scored the following week in the final day with at Queens Park Rangers.

The Scotland international continued where he had left off and he scored ten times in the opening thirteen games of the season.

The goals did dry up following the arrival of Neil Warnock in February, with the new Leeds boss playing him in a deeper role and he scored just three times in the final fourteen games of the season.

Former boss Simon Grayson has been reported to be interested in taking McCormack to his new club Huddersfield Town this summer.

West Ham, Wigan, Crystal Palace and Bristol City have also been linked with McCormack this summer.
