LUFC Warnock contemplated leaving Leeds

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock admits he contemplated leaving Leeds this summer after being frustrated in the early weeks of the summer.

Warnock was hoping to build his squad for the 2012/13 season sooner rather than later and after making just one signing, Jason Pearce from Portsmouth in May. Warnock then lost out on Portsmouth teammate Joel Ward.

Ward joined Palace after it was reported that Leeds could not afford the cash payment up front for the player, much to the frustration of Warnock.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Warnock said, "I was disappointed to lose Ward to Palace earlier on in the summer; in fact at that stage I`m not sure I was going to be here

"There were temptations and I think it might have been easier to take an offer elsewhere than stay here.

"My son James lives here and he`s the one that over this summer - when it would have been easier to leave - who has pleaded with me to give it a go.

"Because he knows how desperate I am to get another promotion."

Leeds have added three players to the squad since, with Adam Drury (Norwich), Paul Green (Derby) and Paddy Kenny (QPR) all signing for the club.

He talks like we are doing him a favour and we owe him everything. I do like Warnock but there is absolutely no way he will get away with the dross that turned out for the last two months of the season. He will soon see how quickly the Leeds fans can turn on people if they are not up to the task.

Heard Warnock on the radio today (13/7/12) bleeting about his transfer budget again ... Cant see him being around much longer at this rate ... If Warnock walks it will put down a marker, and not even "Mike Bassett" would take the job after that ... Suppose you could try...!!!

Think he's more looking forward to the takeover than we are Bates must have really sold him a massive white lie to keep him lets face it he's worse than dealing with Satan, but at least Satan only takes your sole unlike Bates....

This story is old news now, he ain't off anywhere he will at least see out his 12 months, he has even talked Paddy Kenny into coming when he had offers from elsewhere. He wont walk now. But having said that I was well p155ed off when this story first appeared a while back, hopefully turned a corner now. lets put this story behind us MOT
