LUFC Warnock - Enquiries coming in for players

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he has had a number of enquiries about players from other clubs.

Warnock placed Paul Rachubka, Adam Clayton, Ramon Nunez, Andy O`Brien, Paul Connolly and Billy Paynter on the transfer list at the end of last season.

Ross McCormack has also turned down the offer of a new deal and Warnock says whilst there has been interest in his squad, nobody has come up with an acceptable offer to the club for their services. Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "There have been quite a few enquiries about a number of players, which I am not surprised about.

They could all do a good job for certain clubs. But we are trying to change one or two things, there are sometimes casualties, and it`s just one of those things that happens.

You want to bring new players in, and you have to bring in new income as well, and we are not relying on the investment but it would be a welcome boost to everyone.

We`ve got to do what`s right for the club really, we can`t worry too much about individuals at the moment, we need to put our own house in order. We`ve had a couple of bids, but not enough to tempt us at the moment."

The summer transfer window opened at the weekend and there was also a number of players coming to the end of their current deals with the club.

Aidy White is now a free agent after turning down a new deal at Elland Road, with Leeds receiving compensation from the club he joins due to his age.

Warnock also released Lloyd Sam, Danny Webber, Mikael Forssell, Maik Taylor, Alex Bruce, Mika Vayrynen and Ben Parker and all became free agents on June 30th.

So far, just Maik Taylor has found a new club with the veteran goalkeeper signing for Millwall, where he spent the last few months of last season.
