LUFC Palace boss plays down McCormack link

Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman says that reports linking the club with Leeds United striker Ross McCormack are a little 'far-fetched`.

Reports surfaced last week that Freedman was in talks with the Leeds striker who has turned down the offer of a new deal at Elland Road.

Whilst Freedman was quick to play down the links with McCormack, he admitted that he is a player he admires. Speaking in Croydon Today , Freedman said, 'Ross is a fantastic player and I do know him quite well.

'But it might be a little far-fetched to suggest anything.'

McCormack finished last season as the clubs leading goalscorer with 19 goals after struggling in his first season at Elland Road.

Former Leeds boss Simon Grayson is also reported to be interesting in taking McCormack to newly promoted championship side Huddersfield Town.

Premier League Wigan Athletic and West Ham have also been linked as have championship side Bristol City.

The Scottish international striker was one of a number of players offered new deals at Elland Road. So far, only Tom Lees has put pen to paper on a new deal.

Aidy White is now a free agent after running down his contract at Elland Road.

Adam Clayton has been placed on the transfer list after negotiations on a new deal broke down.

Robert Snodgrass is waiting to see what happens in the transfer market over the summer before deciding his Leeds future.

Leeds boss Neil Warnock has also offered youngster Zac Thompson a new deal, as well as veteran midfielder Michael Brown, on what have been quoted as vastly reduced terms to what he was on last season.

No one from the last regime has moved forward so is it very simple answer here waiting for the pay rise (I want all and right now). As I have said it before NW might have a memory of it in the bad times..... But this is a life amongst Agents provocateurs. Tare
