LUFC On this day - July 2nd

A look back at what happened at Leeds United in recent history since Vital Leeds began in the Autumn of 2006.

With the club in administration, the official website announces that the club, after a meeting with the Inland Revenue, will pay the clubs creditors 8p in the £1 after initially offering just 1p in the £1.

As part of the agreement, it is also agreed that Leeds will pay a further 30p in the £1 if Leeds regain their Premier League place within ten years after the initial five-year proposal from the club was turned down.

It now looks like a formality that a consortium led by Ken Bates will be taking over the club in the next few days.

Leeds players return to training on this day. Jermaine Beckford takes part after recently being placed on the transfer list after turning down the offer of a new contract.

Simon Grayson says he is trying to add to his squad before they leave for their pre-season tour of Slovakia. Speaking on the official website, he said, 'We'd like to have someone else in before we go to Slovakia.
'It gives them that seven days away with the lads, so hopefully we might have someone in by then, but if not we'll go with what we have and we'll keep working.'
