Vital Leeds United is keeping fans up to date with all the latest transfer rumours over the summer with Neil Warnock looking to build a squad capable of mounting a promotion challenge next season.
At last, something to report in what has been a disappointing and frustrating summer so far.
The week was once again dragging along; the club regarding the takeover was saying little and no players were coming into the club.
Neil Warnock was saying he was hoping to bring in two or three before the squad return to pre-season training, but it was what we had all heard before.
Suddenly though, like buses, we announce two in two days.
Paul Green came as no surprise as he has been linked with a move to Leeds since the start of the summer.
Norwich defender Adam Drury though, well he has never been mentioned and came totally out of the blue when he was the first player named on Wednesday afternoon.
Elsewhere, it is still relatively quiet apart from names that have been linked continuously over the summer.
It seems a matter of when and not if goalkeeper Paddy Kenny will sign for Leeds. With Robert Green signing for QPR, Kenny is free to look for another club and looking at the forums and on twitter, it seems he has been here there and everywhere around Thorp Arch and Elland Road this week. All I have seen is, he has played golf, celebrated his mums 60th and made rice crispy cakes with the kids!
Portsmouth duo Luke Varney and David Norris are once again being strongly linked with a move to Leeds. I actually live very close to Varney. Maybe I should give him a knock and he can put us all out of our misery.
One fresh player linked this week is Jamie Paterson from Walsall. Paterson is a 20 year old winger who has made just over 50 appearances since breaking into the saddlers first team in 2010.
Going out at Leeds, with the Kenny move moving closer, the reports that Andy Lonergan is on his way to Bolton Wanderers continue. The big worry is if he leaves, that will leave us with Paul Rachubka as number 2. So, unless we are going to rely on a young 18 year old, we will need to bring in another keeper as well.
Ross McCormack continues to be linked with Huddersfield Town and apparently, Bristol City have made 'tentative enquiries`. Could he be on his way to join Neil Kilkenny at 'ambitious City`? I did notice the other week that City had signed Jody Morris. What a midfield that is, Kilkenny and Morris, I bet both could start a fight in an empty room!
With the transfer window opening in a week`s time, players coming to the end of their contracts and Leeds finally making a move in the transfer market, I expect the rumours to pick up pace in the next week.
If you read of any player links in or out of Elland Road then let us know on Vital Leeds.
