LUFC Warnock delighted to have landed Green

Neil Warnock is delighted to have captured Paul Green after the midfielder returned from the European championships this week.

The 29 year old returned to England this week after Republic of Ireland bowed out of the competition and Warnock says Green is another player he has been chasing for a while. Speaking on the official website , Warnock said, "Paul is another player I have been after for a long time, but obviously he was called up by Ireland for the European Championships so we`ve had to be patient.

"I`ve seen him grow from his days at Doncaster and I`m delighted to have him here.

"I`ve always thought that he is a player who can create goals as well as score them, and he has just the type of attitude we need at Elland Road."

Green becomes the second players in two days to agree to sign for Leeds on July 1st, when his current contract runs out at Derby.

The midfielder follows defender Adam Drury who agreed to sign for Leeds yesterday from Premier League side Norwich City.

Green has made over 400 career appearances at Doncaster Rovers and Derby County, since making his debut for Doncaster in March 2002.
