LUFC Vital Norwich view on Adam Drury

LUFC Vital Norwich view on Adam Drury

Vital Leeds United have asked the fans on the Vital Norwich site their thoughts on Leeds latest signing Adam Drury.

We had a number of responses and all seem disappointed to be losing a player who has spent the last eleven seasons at Carrow Road.

The following fans all commented on Drury:

Drayton Green

Best position
Best and only realistic position is left back, although he has in the past played at centre back.

Not a great deal of pace but main strength is playing wingers out of the game and also is good going forward.

Had a bad injury spell about three years ago when he missed a whole season and Ryan Bertrand replaced him on loan from Chelsea, who stayed for two years and took Drury`s place in the side.

His strengths are his positional sense and keeping good wingers out of the game. His only weakness is his age.

I would have liked to see him stay. He played a major part in the last half of past season. However he was offered a one-year deal. If Tierney gets fit and Chris Hughton brings in a new left back, he would not have played much next season.

I really hope he gets a first team place for you next season and will be looking out for how he does.

A great player and all round brilliant man.

Ratpack
He plays left back but can also do a very good job at centre back.
Under pressure he is so calm on the ball, can`t say I have really seen him make a stray pass at all in all the time he has played for us.

I still think he should have been kept at Norwich. He still has good pace at 33, which is no age these days as they keep themselves so fit.

He does his job and if he has a speedy winger in front of him, he can really turn it on.

A lot of Norwich fans are upset with him going, I think that says it all how much we rate him.

Two seasons ago he was out a bit and then he couldn`t get back into a winning side.
Last season he started behind Tierney in the pecking order, then got his chance and played 16 on the spin. Tierney could not shift him at the end and he was by far the better player.

Leeds have got him for nothing. To me that does not make sense, a player of his quality. We were hoping he would get another contract but the club it seem thought otherwise.

I have nothing but respect for Drury fantastic player and I wish him all the best and hope he get promotion with Leeds. I will be definitely keeping an eye on how you are doing next season.

Northern Yellow
Drury is a Legend in my eyes. Always the strikers get the legendary status but Drury has been loyal to our club for 11 years. Pretty rare these days. In his prime was easily one of the best left backs in the country, no doubt about it.
I will miss him. He was Mr reliable, kept his head down and did a great job for NCFC. He was also a great role model to younger players.

Sminky
A perfect NCFC role model if ever there was one and a true professional. Sure Leeds fans will appreciate him.

Thanks to the fans at Vital Norwich for their responses.
