LUFC White plays 90 minutes for Ireland

Soon to be out of contract Aidy White, played the 90 minutes for Republic of Ireland as they held Italy 2-2 in their European under 21 2013 qualifier at the Showgrounds in Sligo.

Ireland fought back from two goals down, to claim a point and keep alive their hopes of qualifying for next summer`s finals.

Defender Shane Duffy put through his own goal after just three minutes and the Italians looked like maintaining their 100% record in the campaign when Ciro Immobile doubled their lead just short of the hour.

Two goals in four minutes by Robbie Brady and Greg Cunningham earned Ireland a point.

White has now played in all six of Ireland`s qualifiers and they sit six points behind Italy, with a game in hand.

It was White`s first competitive game since suffering an ankle injury for Leeds in their 2-0 home defeat to Watford at the end of March.

The versatile White looks set to be leaving Elland Road at the end of this month after failing to agree a new deal with Leeds.

Newcastle United, Arsenal and Glasgow Celtic are all reported to be chasing the 20-year-old who has come through the Leeds United academy.

When will he be gone? Looks like we will be paying his wage until the end of the month. I bet he has already sorted out a deal with a new club.
