LUFC Leeds planning overseas trips

Leeds United are planning to make the most of the international breaks next season by arranging overseas friendlies.

Premier League and championship clubs have a free weekend when the home countries are involved internationally and a source inside the club says they will be looking to take the opportunity to arrange games overseas rather than training at Thorp Arch.

Last season, Leeds usually took the opportunity to arrange a behind closed doors friendly game during the international break.

Leeds will be without a game over the weekend of September 8th and 9th with the world cup qualifiers starting for all the home nations.

The second round of qualifying games takes place just over a month later over the weekend of 13th and 14th October.

Leeds have already arranged an overseas trip during pre-season, when they will travel to Norway for a game with Sandejford on August 1st.

It is the second pre-season in a row that Leeds have made the trip to Oslo to face Sandejford and Leeds have been frequent visitors to Scandinavia over the years.

The branch has pick up points at Basingstoke, Reading, Didcot, Abingdon, Oxford, Bicester and Banbury and will consider other pick up points on request.
