LUFC Warnock hoping to add to squad this week

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock is hoping to bring in a couple of players this week.

Warnock is set to start his summer holiday in just over a week`s time and he says that after a busy time talking to agents, he will be disappointed if he hasn`t added to his squad by the time he goes away.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Warnock said, "I`ll be glad this week if we get a couple of lads in. If we haven`t, I`ll be disappointed if I`m honest.

"I go away on the 25th and I want to try and get two or three in by then, if I can."

Warnock has so far brought in just Jason Pearce from Portsmouth this month and he has been strongly linked with his teammate Joel Ward who was reportedly in Leeds last week holding negotiations, as well as Derby County midfielder Paul Green who is out of contract this summer.

He continues to be linked with a number of players but the Leeds boss says two or three of his targets have yet to be mentioned. "There`s loads of speculation, but fortunately two or three of my targets haven`t been mentioned yet. I`d like to keep them all under wraps, ideally.

"I`ve spoken to quite a lot of agents over the last seven days. It`s just a matter of trying to seal deals really,"added Warnock.

He will also be hoping to free up some more wages over the next few months by offloading the six players he has placed on the transfer list, as well as the seven players who have been released since April.
