LUFC Leeds United Transfer Rumours Week One

Vital Leeds United will once again be looking at some of the weird, wacky and downright ridiculous rumours that are circulating during the silly season this summer.

It is never dull with transfer rumours when Leeds are involved but this summer is probably going to be more so with the promised influx of players by Neil Warnock.

Starting on a positive note, the worst kept secret was finally confirmed on Friday when Jason Pearce finally completed his move to Elland Road.

Having signed Pearce from Portsmouth, it seems we want him to feel at home by signing half of his teammates with Greg Halford, Joel Ward and Luke Varney also being rumoured with a move to Leeds.

One name that continues to be linked with Leeds is Doncaster Rovers 'spit the dog` El Hadji Diouf. It seems this rumour leaves the fans divided. Whilst some rate him lower than a snakes belly, there are those that recognise that at this level he would be a good signing. The fact Neil Warnock continues to not rule himself out of the move, it is open to speculation.

One rumour that is all over the Leeds boards and forums is a swap deal with Leicester City that would involve Matt Mills and Jermaine Beckford coming to Leeds in exchange for Adam Clayton who has been placed on the transfer list this week.

I am struggling to work out how this could possibly be a fair swap. Two players who cost Leicester £9 million between them last season, for a player who had an average first proper season in the championship.

So far this week only Aidy White and Ramon Nunez have been linked with moves away from Elland Road.

Premier League Newcastle United are reported to be interested in the out of contract White whilst Doncaster Rovers are chasing transfer listed Ramon Nunez.

If you read in the papers any players linked with a move to or from Leeds then please let us know on Vital Leeds.
