LUFC Warnock offers new deals to six

Whilst Leeds United boss Neil Warnock has told eleven players they are free to leave Elland Road he is set to offer six players new deals.

Aidy White and Robert Snodgrass have already been offered new deals at the club.

Warnock is expected to make an announcement on the future of White in the next two weeks, with the youngster out of contract this summer.

The Leeds boss explained last week that there is no rush with the deal offered to Snodgrass with the club captain expected to take his time on his offer of a new deal.

Leading goalscorer Ross McCormack and his representatives are set to sit down and with Leeds to negotiate a new deal for the striker who is out of contract in the summer of 2013

Veteran midfielder Michael Brown is to be offered a new one-year deal with the club after coming to the end of his one-year deal. Brown struggled under Simon Grayson but looked rejuvenated under Warnock who he had previously worked with at Sheffield United.

Youngsters Tom Lees and Zac Thompson are also set to be offered new deals.

Lees only signed a new and improved deal at Elland Road last September keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2015.

The versatile defender is to be rewarded with a new offer after making 45 appearances in his first season in the first team.

19-year-old Thompson made ten appearances in his first season with the first team playing at both right back and in midfield. He enjoyed a run of five straight starts under Simon Grayson before the former bosses sacking at the end of January.

One player who has rejected his new deal is midfielder Adam Clayton who has been placed on the transfer list with one year remaining on his current deal with the club.

And probably only Brown will accept his offer. I have read that he is being offered £2k a week, down from £12k. I think £2k is too much for a player with limited ability and well past his best.
