LUFC Warnock not prepared to comment on Diouf

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock refused to comment on whether he was interested in signing El Hadji Diouf.

Sky Sports have reported that Leeds have held initial talks with the former African footballer of the year but Warnock says he will be linked with a number of players, with the Leeds boss looking to rebuild the squad ready for a push for promotion next season.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "He is one of a number of players that I am going to be linked with left, right and centre. Sometimes they are genuine and sometimes they are invented but I will not make a comment on any individual, something that I do not feel I have to do.

"What I have to do now is fix my mind on getting the lads signed and then when I have managed to do that I will let the Leeds fans know as soon as possible."

Warnock is already reported to be close to securing the services of Portsmouth defender Jason Pearce and Derby County midfielder Paul Green.

He also continues to be linked with a number of his former players at Queens Park Rangers with Clint Hill, Shaun Derry and Paddy Kenny all linked with a move to Elland Road.

In what is sure to be a rumour filled summer for Leeds, Warnock has also been linked with Hermann Hreidarsson, Theo Robinson, Kyle Brownhill, Luke Varney, Tony Diagne Brian Easton, Sol Bamba and Matt Mills in the past few weeks.

Vital Leeds will keep you up to date over the summer with all the rumours of players both joining and leaving the club.
