LUFC Warnock to be shrewd in transfer market

LUFC Warnock to be shrewd in transfer market

Neil Warnock says it will be a busy time over the summer and he will have to be shrewd to bring in the right players to the club with a mixture of both players requiring a free as well as those available for free.

Warnock has stated that major surgery is required at Elland Road and he has already started his summer clear out with three players leaving this week.

Ben Parker and Mika Vayrynen have been released by Leeds and Darren O`Dea, who has spent the season on loan at Elland Road from Glasgow Celtic, has been told he will not be offered a contract by the club and is free to leave.

Warnock says there will also be further developments around Elland Road before the season ends next weekend.

The wheels are already in motion and Warnock will be without his coaching staff team of Mick Jones and Ronnie Jepson this weekend who will be on scouting missions rather than accompanying Warnock at Cardiff City.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "Mick Jones and Ronnie Jepson are going to leave me on my own at Cardiff and they are going to be out scouting because we have so many different players to take a look at.

"We have to look to the future and that is why Mick and Ronnie will be out looking at players we have targeted.

"Hopefully we will try and bring some in as soon as the season ends. There is going to be one or two things happen in the next seven days. Not only Darren but there will be one or two other things around the club taking place around playing squad."

The Leeds boss is also close to signing a couple of unnamed players and he says he intends to use the cash provided by the Leeds board as well as making the most of those players available on a Bosman free transfer. "What funds are available we will try and use and we will also look to take advantage of those players available on a Bosman. We will try and pick the best ones we can. We need quite a number of players so we will not be able to buy everybody we want, we will have to be shrewd in what we do," added Warnock.

Warnock admits he is still unsure as to how many players he will be looking to bring in this summer but he is determined to bring in the right kind of player to the club to make Elland Road a fortress next season. Warnock continued, "I cannot tell you know how many players I will be bringing in because we just need to get a competitive squad and good players with plenty of energy because the place needs to be vibrant."

The rumour mill is sure to go into overdrive in the summer and Vital Leeds will keep you up to date during the summer months with all the players linked with a move to Elland Road as well as those linked with a move away.
