LUFC A look back at Cardiff v Leeds

LUFC A look back at Cardiff v Leeds

Vital Leeds looks at the head-to-head record between Cardiff City and Leeds United at Cardiff ahead of the clash on Saturday.

The two sides have met on 22 previous occasions at Cardiff with the home side winning 14, Leeds 3 and 5 draws.

The first ever meeting was in the 1920/21 season when Cardiff won 1-0.

Leeds had to wait until their fourteenth visit to Ninian Park for their first success. A goal from Billy Bremner secured a 1-0 in a FA Cup third round clash.

Leeds have lost five and drawn one of their last five visits to Cardiff.

The last time Leeds won was back in the 1983/84 season when they won 1-0 thanks to a goal from George McCluskey.

The sides met at the new Cardiff City Stadium for the first time last season, with Cardiff winning 2-1.

Craig Bellamy gave Cardiff an early lead before Robert Snodgrass equalised for Leeds on the hour. Michael Chopra won the game for the home side with just eleven minutes remaining.

Goals in this fixture are minimal with an average of just 1.91 goals per game.
