LUFC Warnock - We deserved something

LUFC Warnock - We deserved something

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock was disappointed to come away from Blackpool with nothing after conceding late on in the game at Bloomfield Road.

Leeds looked set for a fourth away clean sheet in five games under Warnock until Martinez Angel scored with just eleven minutes remaining and the Leeds boss felt the minimum Leeds deserved was a point.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "I have mixed emotions. We were playing against one of the best sides in the division and I was disappointed we did not win it let alone not come away with a point.

"At 1-0 down, we had two great chances and I cannot understand how we could not convert either of them. I thought we were always a threat on the break."

Blackpool`s pace had Leeds on the back foot in the first half with Matt Phillips, Tom Ince and Lomana Lua Lua all going close to giving Blackpool the lead.

For Leeds, Darren O`Dea had Leeds best effort but headed over from close range and they had strong claims for a penalty turned away after Ross McCormack was brought down in the penalty area.

Luciano Becchio also headed over for Leeds in the second half as Leeds enjoyed more possession.

Shortly after Blackpool had taken the lead, O`Dea was sent off for Leeds but despite this, Danny Webber missed a great chance to equalise for Leeds when he headed over.

The defeat at Blackpool brings to an end another dismal season in midweek for Leeds.

Leeds have won just two of their ten games played on Tuesday and Wednesday evening`s this season picking up just eight points from a possible thirty.
