LUFC Warnock offers Snodgrass new deal

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock has offered midfielder Robert Snodgrass a new contract with the club but expects him to leave this summer if he turns down the new deal.

The Leeds skipper is out of contract in the summer of 2013 and Warnock wants Snodgrass to be the pivotal part of Leeds promotion hopes next season.

Warnock speaking on Yorkshire Radio said, "I want him to know how important he is too us. I want him to be the captain next year and build the club around him. I have asked him to give us a year and one way or another he will be in the Premier League the following season."

The Leeds boss does feel though if Snodgrass turns down the new deal he will be leaving the club this summer. "If he doesn`t accept the contract that we have offered him, which is a fabulous contract, then I don`t think there is any other option than he will be leaving, but I don`t want that to happen," added Warnock.

Snodgrass has made almost 200 appearances for Leeds since signing in the summer of 2008 from Livingston.

Since his arrival at Elland Road, he has become a regular in the Scotland squad and he scored his first international goal earlier this season.

The 24 year old is enjoying an excellent season in front of goal having scored 13 times for Leeds already this season, his best return in four seasons with Leeds.
