LUFC Leeds Fans View v Derby

Vital Leeds contributor Erni does the fans view this week with Tiny T missing the game at Elland Road.


Lonergan 5

He didn`t have a lot to do and had no chance with either goal. Did make a fine save in the first minute but otherwise looked unsure and jittery all afternoon. Kicking was poor.

Connolly 4
Passing was poor and energy levels low but he made a few good tackles. He didn`t really look interested.

O'Dea 4
Neil Warnock must see more in this guy than I do. He always looks a yard off the pace and long ball out of defence seems his only tactic

Lees 5
Made a lot of good headers away and did try and play the ball out of defence but caught flat footed a couple of times and gets drawn to the ball too much instead of marking opponents.

Robinson 5
Solid but gets caught too often for pace for me. I thought he would organise our defence but his own game is not solid enough at the moment to help others.

Brown 0
The referee was always going to be watching the tackles after Friday`s game and he gave him a perfect opportunity to get his red card out. Little contact but silly tackle.

Snodgrass 6
The only one who looked like providing any impact in midfield but still way below his best. One great ball through to Webber that should have produced a goal.

Pugh 3
Very poor first half when he hardly found a Leeds player with his passing but improved second half as he decided to get stuck in instead of standing off.

Nunez 3
If this was his chance, he did not take it. He flitted around the edges without influencing the game. One good shot second half and some good first time control but did not use the ball well. He did receive a lot of 'hospital passes' when in space from colleagues though.

Becchio 5
Isolated up front, trying to win headers from long balls all afternoon. He got little to no support from midfield.

McCormack 5
Only one to provide some energy first half and he was unlucky with a great header that would have equalised. Faded out second half and noticeably pulled out of a few tackles late on.

Subs
Paynter 2

He showed why he is not in the team in this short period. Did not win a header, passing poor and impact nil.

Rogers 4
Provided a bit of pace but by the time he came on the game was lost and his teammates had given up.

Webber 5
Gave it a go and ran at their defence but looks like he is running in treacle half the time. Had a glorious chance from a great Snodgrass through ball but woefully off target.

Summary
We were second best from the kick off and should have been one down in the first minute.
Had we been two or three down when Brown was sent off we could not have argued.

Brown was stupid to tackle like that. He didn`t look to make much contact and the player made a lot of it but it was studs up in the groin. Snoddy threw his arms in the air immediately and walked away.

We had no energy or momentum in midfield and we rarely looked like scoring. I don`t say the players didn`t try hard enough but they were off the pace and way down on skill to a slick young Derby side.

There was a subdued atmosphere before the kick-off but the crowd never got on the players backs and apart from one brief chant, there were no negative vibes from the Kop.

Every piece of good football was cheered on but it`s hard work at Elland Road at the moment and Colin`s after match interview summed it all up. 'A lot of these players know now they won`t be here next year and maybe that`s affecting their performances'.
Then why don`t you try a couple of youngsters Neil??
They really could not be worse than what we are seeing.

MAN of the match - Nobody deserved it.
