LUFC Lorimer - We need quality not quantity

Leeds United legend Peter Lorimer says Neil Warnock will need to bring in quality players over the summer rather than quantity.

Lorimer was the match summariser on Yorkshire Radio at Reading on Friday and talking after the game said, "The chairman is over on Monday and I believe Neil planning to have a chat with him. Let us see how that conversation goes and see what comes out of it.

"As far as we are led to believe there is a signing on the way so things are progressing. I do think we need more quality than quantity. There is enough quantity now but we do not have the quality.

"I think that is something Neil is well aware of and I think he will be saying that to the chairman.

"I don`t think we need minor surgery. I think we need four or five quality players in the team. Rather than have 30 players all of the same ability, or one or two who are a little bit better. We need players of the Robert Snodgrass class and we need five or six of them."

Leeds are once again being strongly linked with three of Warnock`s former players at Queens Park Rangers in today`s Sunday Mail.

Goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, defender Clint Hill and former Leeds midfielder Shaun Derry all continue to be linked with a move to Elland Road in the summer.

Kenny, Hill and Derry have all worked With Warnock at previous clubs. Kenny was part of the Sheffield United and Queens Park Rangers sides to gain promotion from the championship and he also played for Warnock during his time at Bury.

Hill also played for Warnock at both Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers

Derry has played at Warnock`s previous two clubs Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers and he could make a return to Elland Road after leaving in 2007.
