Warnock wants Elland Road hostile and intimidating

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he wants Elland Road to become a hostile and intimidating atmosphere next season.

Warnock is aiming to put a squad together in the summer that will bring the missing fans back to Elland Road and he wants them to make an influence on what goes on, on the pitch.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "Elland Road next season will be an intimidating hostile atmosphere, make no mistake.

"I have got to put a team out that makes it like that. I want our fans to influence people and I am sure they will."

Warnock has been full of praise for the fans since his arrival in February and he will be looking to turn Elland Road back into a fortress.

Jimmy Greaves once said of the Leeds fans during the early 90`s that the intimidating atmosphere inside Elland Road was worth a goal start.

Leeds have lost nine home games this season, their worst return since the relegation season of 2006/07 when they suffered ten defeats.

Warnock is still waiting for his first win at Elland Road having lost three and drawn one of their four home games since his arrival.

Give us something on the pitch and we will always make Elland Road an intimadating place to come to. I think opposition players actually enjoy coming to Leeds at the moment, something they never used too. Our away support is in another league. Yesterday at Reading was a huge example of this. Non stop singing and that was mainly down to the fact we could see the effort being put in on the pitch. I would love it to go back to how it was in the 80's and early 90's.
