LUFC Reading v Leeds Over the years

Vital Leeds looks at the head-to-head record between Reading and Leeds United at both Elm Park and the Madejski Stadium over the years.

The two sides have only ever met on six occasions at Reading with Leeds winning two, drawing three and losing one.

The first ever meeting between the two came during the 1927/28 season when Leeds won 1-0 at Elm Park thanks to a Charlie Keetley goal.

The win completed the double for Leeds that season having won 6-2 at Elland Road earlier in the season has Leeds won promotion to the First Division.

It was almost sixty years before the two sides met again during the 1986/87 season. John Pearson scored for Leeds in a 2-1 defeat.

Leeds gained revenge the following season when John Sheridan scored from the penalty spot in a 1-0 win for Leeds.

They have previously met three at the Madejski Stadium with all three games ending in a draw.

The first of these meeting came during the 2004/05 season when it finished 1-1.

Simon Walton gave Leeds the lead after just 76 seconds of the game before Lloyd Owuso equalised on the stroke of half time.

In the 2005/06 season, David Healy equalised for Leeds to earn them a point in another 1-1 draw.

Brynjar Gunnarsson had given Reading the lead just past the hour mark.

When the two sides met last season, they fought out a dour 0-0 draw.
