LUFC Warnock - No guts, no quality and no desire

Neil Warnock is ready to wield the axe during the summer, after another abject performance in the 2-0 home defeat against Watford.

Warnock feels his squad is lacking in every department and will require major surgery to change things.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "What we are missing are quality players. What we do not have is enough of everything.

"We have not got enough guts, quality and desire. You name it and we do not have it. The squad needs major surgery.

"I think the game summed up why I have been brought to the club. We are talking about the same mistakes and same performances and it must change drastically."

Warnock also accused some of his players of going missing and he is grateful the team already have enough points for championship safety this season. "When I looked at today`s performance it is a good job we are not in a relegation battle.

"When I looked at some of the players, I thought they went AWOL.

"There is a way of losing. If you come off and think, we have done well then ok. But that today, I cannot ask 20,000 plus fans to pay money and watch that.

"I have to make sure we get enough good championship players who have all the ingredients of what I require to make sure we are not in the same situation next season because there is no-way I will tolerate biting my tongue like I have after being tonked by Watford," added Warnock.

Warnock admitted in the week he is in talks with five players about new contracts with the club. Apart from these players and those contracted past the summer of 2013 the Leeds boss may look for a total clear out.

Nine players with first team experience are out of contract this summer and a further eight the following summer.

Say it how it is Neil. Just make sure you clear the lot out in the summer.
