LUFC Somma suffers setback

Leeds United striker Davide Somma has suffered a setback in his recovery from the knee injury that has kept him out all season according to a report.

Somma suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury that required surgery in pre-season.

The South African international is reported in The Sun to have undergone further surgery in a hope to be back in time for the start of next season.

The 25 year old netted 12 times in 32 appearances for Leeds in his first full season with the club last term, although just 13 of these were starts.

Somma earned a new deal with Leeds in the summer of 2009 after enjoying a successful loan spell with Lincoln City where he netted 9 times in 14 appearances.

The striker still has a year remaining on his current contract at Elland Road.
