LUFC What is it about midweek games

After Leeds humiliating defeat to Nottingham Forest, what is it with midweek games in the last two seasons that have made Leeds so poor.

Leeds midweek woes have continued this season where they left off from last season.

Last season Leeds had a dreadful midweek record with games played on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening, winning just 1, drawing 2 and losing 5 of their eight games played.

They included conceding five at Barnsley and six at home against Preston North End.

Their only win was a 2-1 win at Preston who finished the season as the bottom club in the championship.

This season they have fared only slightly better, winning 2, drawing 2 and losing 5.

Their midweek games started brighter this season with a 4-1 win at home against Hull City.

Apart from a 4-0 win at Nottingham Forest in November, Leeds have once again failed to turn up for the vast majority of their midweek games.

They have picked up just one point up from a possible six against Coventry City who are currently in the relegation places.

Leeds have now conceded 16 goals in their last three home midweek games. Blackpool 5, Birmingham City 4 and now Nottingham Forest 7 have all filled their boots at Elland Road.
