'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC View from the opposition manager v Leeds

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce felt his side showed great character to grab a late point at Leeds United.

In a game played in front of the biggest crowd at Elland Road this season, Allardyce felt it was a good point against a resurgent Leeds under Neil Warnock.

Allardyce speaking on the Football League show said "It was a great atmosphere in the ground, which is what you want to see in the championship. Two teams with great history going head-to-head and not in the division they want to be in.

"In the end we have come away with what you have to respect is a good point irrespective of what happened in the first 80 minutes. Whether it was us or them, they went one up and we have shown great character to come back and get the 1-1."

Leeds looked like they were going to clinch a crucial three points when Luciano Becchio headed them ahead with just seven minutes remaining.

West Ham levelled in the final minute of normal time when Danny Collins headed home from close range.
