Allardyce - Leeds can go on a run under Warnock

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce says there is no reason why Leeds United cannot go on a run and reach the play off places come the end of the season.

Allardyce brings his West Ham side to Elland Road on Saturday having slipped out of the automatic promotion places for the first time since the turn of the year in midweek when Reading claimed a point at Doncaster Rovers, their 25th from a possible 27.

Big Sam believes Leeds can emulate the run that Reading have put together, especially now they have Neil Warnock in charge.

Speaking on the West Ham official website , Allardyce said, "There is every chance with the experienced Neil Warnock as manager now.
Neil has seen it and done it all and knows what a team needs, to go on a run like Reading`s and he will be looking to do that with Leeds having won his first game on Sunday at Middlesbrough."

Whilst Reading have been on a good run of form, West Ham have drawn their last four home games including games against struggling Watford and Doncaster Rovers.

West Ham come to Elland Road on Saturday with the best away record in the championship having won 10 of their 17 games on the road.

They have won their last two games on their travels against sides harbouring a hope of promotion this season.

West Ham inflicted a 4-1 defeat on Blackpool at Bloomfield Road despite playing for much of the second half with ten men.

In their next away game, they defeated Cardiff City 2-0 with former Leeds loan defender George McCartney on target.

The reverse game at Upton Park earlier in the season was a cracking game with Leeds twice coming from behind to earn a point. Adam Clayton fired home for Leeds in stoppage time to earn Leeds a 2-2 draw.
