LUFC Deane - Leeds have right man to win promotion

Former Leeds United striker Brian Deane believes Neil Warnock is the right man to lead Leeds back into the Premier League.

Deane was speaking on the Late Kick off on Monday night and he feels Warnock can bring in the players to lead the side to promotion to the top flight for the first time since 2004.

Speaking on the show, Deane said, "I was one of those saying he was the right man for the job. He has come in and he has a lot of respect across the region.

"He is just what Leeds United need right now. The sort of manager who is going to bring in the type of players who he feels will get the team promoted."

Deane had two spells at Leeds United during a career spanning 21 years.

The Leeds born striker was the clubs record signing when he joined the club for £2.9 million in the summer of 1993 from Sheffield United.

After four years at Elland Road, he returned to Sheffield United for a cut price £1.5 million.

He returned to Leeds for a second spell in the summer of 2004 and he spent most of the season at Elland Road before joining Sunderland in March.

Deane returned to Sheffield United for a third time in December 2005 under Warnock, but he made just two appearances before retiring at the end of the season.
