Warnock - I need chairman's support immediately

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock says chairman Ken Bates must support him immediately and not in two or three years` time after admitting there is a lot of work to be done at the club.

Leeds have produced two much improved performances since the arrival of Warnock including playing league leaders Southampton of the park in their last game, a game they somehow managed to lose after an inspired performance by saints goalkeeper Kelvin Davis.

63 year old Warnock says Bates must support him now if Leeds are to regain their place in the Premier League in the near future.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "There is a lot of work to be done. They have done so well over the past few years and they have come up so quickly. Sometimes you grow quicker than you imagined and to go to the next stage there has to be a lot of work done.

"The chairman knows this and he has got to support me when I ask for certain things over the next few months.

"I keep going on about packing in but he knows I want to do things immediately and not in two or three years` time. You can`t plan now as a manager for two or three years` time."

Warnock signed a deal keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2013 after joining the club recently and he is hoping to break the record of most promotions in English football by a league manager.

Dave Bassett, Graham Taylor and Warnock all currently have seven and with Warnock the only one currently in employment, he is desperate to take the record outright before his retirement.

Well Bates knows he must support Warnock, if not dont expect him to be at Leeds next season...Bates will probably say we must get some out before we can bring anyone in the usual rubbish...We have a very good chance on getting to the PL! If Bates backs Warnock now! Good luck! Neil...
