LUFC Warnock - I don't like loan signings

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he does not believe in using the loan player system and will be looking to bring in players on a permanent deal.

Leeds have used the loan system heavily in recent seasons ND Warnock says you don`t get the same commitment from a loan player that you would from a permanent signing.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "When I went to QPR we had eight loan players training and nobody cared about the club. We cannot be having that and that is why we were nearly relegated.

"You have to have players who want to wear the shirt. You looked round the dressing room on Saturday and there was disappointment but everyone of them gave everything in that game.

"You have to have the dressing room sorted in pre-season. You have to have players that care. No disrespect to loan players but when the chips are down and you have to put your head in where it hurts, loan players, quite rightly so have to think about their own future.

"I think once a player signs on the dotted line permanently, you care that little bit more and that is what I look for. I don`t think you can have too many loan players.

"I think the loan system has to be used for an icing on the cake job when you might have two or three injuries at short notice and you get someone in to help you out in that situation, otherwise I don`t believe in it."

Previous Leeds manager Simon Grayson had brought in sixteen loan signings in the last two seasons, with three of them returning to their parent clubs since the arrival of Warnock.

Fabian Delph returned to Aston Villa through injury and both Andros Townsend and Adam Smith have returned to Tottenham Hotspur.
