LUFC Calamity ref in charge of Hull clash

After the woeful refereeing performance by Nigel Miller in the game with Southampton on Saturday, Leeds now have to contend with demoted Premier League referee Stuart Attwell for the game with Hull City at the KC Stadium on Tuesday night.

Attwell has recently demoted by the Premier League after a number of high profile mistakes.

Since his demotion, two of his last three games have been in League Two.

The 29 year old has never been far away from controversy and awarded a phantom goal at Watford in 2008 when they ball went out for a goal kick but Attwell awarded a goal.

He was finally removed from the elite list in the Premier League last month after a number of controversial decisions, which included sending off Gary Cahill whilst he was still at Bolton.

Cahill was sent off when Attwell adjudged him to be the last man despite the incident happening close to the halfway line. The Premier League rescinded the red card after Bolton appealed the decision.

So far this season Attwell has taken charge of 20 games, showing 75 yellow cards and 4 reds.

Last season he took charge of 25 games, showing 79 yellow cards and 2 reds.

He was in charge of Hull as recently as January when they were dumped out of the FA Cup at home by League Two side Crawley Town.

His last game in charge of Leeds was at the start of the 2009/10 season when they won 1-0 at Wycombe Wanderers in their first away game of the season.

To date that is his only game in charge of Leeds in five seasons in the Football League.

Referee: Stuart Attwell
Assistants: David Benton & Gordon Johnson
Fourth official: Richard Wigglesworth

He was utterly in appalling in our game against Crawley, he's completely inept and shouldn't be anywhere near a league football pitch.
