LUFC Warnock - That is the effort I expect

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says that is the minimum amount of effort he expects from his players after seeing his side dominate top of the table Southampton at Elland Road.

Despite the Leeds dominance, they had no points to show for their efforts as a Rickie Lambert goal and some unbelievable goalkeeping from Kelvin Davis kept Leeds out.

The game was Warnock`s first at Elland Road since taking over from Simon Grayson and despite the defeat, Warnock says he really enjoyed the game and it has whetted the appetite for the future.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "That is the minimum I expect in a game. We played against the top of the league and in fairness we have battered them. It is a cruel game sometimes.

"Overall, I couldn`t fault the effort. We got the crowd going because of the way we played, the way we drove on. It is a great arena Elland Road.

"I really enjoyed the game. I know we lost but it just whets the appetite."
