LUFC Leeds v Southampton Form Guide

LUFC Leeds v Southampton Form Guide

Vital Leeds looks at the form of both Leeds United and Southampton ahead of tonight`s game live on Sky Sports.

The game should provide goals with two of the top three goalscorers in the championship up against each other.

The two sides also boast the two leading goalscorers in the division with Rickie Lambert - Southampton (19) and Ross McCormack - Leeds (15).

Leeds
The whites started life under Neil Warnock last weekend with a 0-0 draw at Portsmouth.

The clean sheet at Portsmouth was only Leeds seventh of the season.

Last time out at home, they scored a 99th minute winner to beat Doncaster Rovers 3-2. The goal deep into stoppage time was the 10th time this season they have scored in time added on for stoppages, more than any other club in the championship this season.

So far this season at home, Leeds have won eight, drawn two and lost six.

There have been 50 goals in Leeds 16 home games. They have scored and conceded 25 goals.

Only Nottingham Forest and Barnsley (27) and Watford (26) have worse defensive records at home this season.

The last home game against Doncaster was the first time a Leeds player other than Robert Snodgrass, Ross McCormack or Luciano Becchio scored for Leeds at Elland Road, since back in October when Darren O`Dea netted against Coventry City.

Only Southampton (61) and Blackpool (56) have scored more goals than Leeds (52) in the championship this season.

Leeds are currently in tenth place with 49 points from 33 games.

Southampton
The Saints are the current league leaders of the championship having been in or around the automatic promotion places since the start of the season.

They have scored seven goals in their last two games without conceding.

Southampton beat Derby 4-0 at home and they won 3-0 at Watford last weekend.

They are unbeaten in their last six championship games with three wins and three draw.

When Southampton have scored first in a game this season, they have won 16 out of the 18 games.

So far this season on their travels, they have won five, drawn six and lost five.

Southampton are clear at the top by one point from West Ham with 62 points from 33 games.
