Warnock - Didn't think we could keep a clean sheet

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock admits he could never see his new side keeping a clean sheet having watched the game against Doncaster Rovers from the stands in his first day at the club.

Warnock also sat and watched videos of the Leeds defending and admitted straight away that he would need to strengthen the Leeds defence if they were to have a realistic chance of reaching the play-offs.

Leeds managed a clean sheet in his first game in charge at Portsmouth last weekend, something that he admits came as something of a surprise.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "To get a clean sheet at a place like that is a start and that did surprise me if I am honest. After the Doncaster game I could never see us keeping a clean sheet, so it was a nice pleasant surprise."

Leeds have been linked with a number of defenders since the arrival of Warnock, with Leicester defender Matt Mills and Bolton defender Paul Robinson both being linked with a move to Elland Road this week.

So far, Warnock has just seen the arrival of attacking player Danny Webber who has been without a club since being released by Portsmouth at the end of last season.
