'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Mick Jones - Warnock demands commitment

New Leeds United assistant manager Mick Jones has explained what new boss Neil Warnock expects from his staff and players as manager.

Jones has worked with Warnock for most of the last 23 years since first teaming up with him at Notts County in 1989.

The duo led County from the old Third Division to the top flight in the space of two years and he has also worked with him at Huddersfield Town, Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers as his assistant.

Jones knows Warnock better than anyone else inside football and he says if Warnock gets the commitment from his staff and players they will do fine.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Jones said, "He is a demanding man for staff, players and everyone around him. He is very committed and he expects the same from everybody. If you respond, you will have a friend for life.

"With players, if they are good enough and their attitude is good, they want to work hard, they want to produce on the training ground and they can replicate this on a match day, they will be fine."

Elsewhere, Warnock`s former reserve team manager Ronnie Jepson at both Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers is reported to have joined him at Elland Road.

Jepson remained at Loftus Road following the sacking of Warnock is January but it is now believed that he has joined up with Warnock once again.

To many players have had an easy ride at Leeds and knew no matter how poorly they played they would keep their place in the side. Warnock will not them get away with not putting the effort in. Can't wait for Saturday to see what sort of response he gets from the players.
