LUFC McCormack frustrated by Scotland omission

LUFC McCormack frustrated by Scotland omission

Leeds United striker Ross McCormack has been left frustrated after he was once again overlooked for the latest Scotland squad for their friendly with Slovenia at the end of this month.

McCormack hasn`t featured for Scotland since the nation`s cup clash with Wales in May and he has failed to add to his seven caps for his country despite being in great goal scoring form this season.

Speaking in the Scottish Sun, McCormack spoke of his frustration, when he said, 'I don't feel as if I will be in a squad no matter if I score goals or not. It is hard to take as people keep telling me I am going to be in the next squad or should be in it.

'Meanwhile, you have Craig Mackail-Smith who is not playing for his club, Jamie Mackie is not playing for his club and David Goodwillie is not playing for his club.

'The only striker in the squad who is playing for his club is Kenny Miller.

'I'd understand if they'd scored a lot more goals than me, but they haven't.

'I have scored 15 goals in 26 starts in the league and I think that speaks for itself.

'I have been playing pretty well in the last few games for Leeds and I know there is plenty more to come from me.

'I have no idea why I am not in the squad."

McCormack has netted 15 times in the championship so far this season and is just one behind Southampton striker Rickie Lambert in the race to finish the season as the leading goalscorer in the division.

The former Glasgow Rangers striker started the season in fine form, netting nine times in the opening ten games.

He then went through something of a lean spell in the autumn but he has been back amongst the goals since the turn of the year with four goals in his last six games.
