Neil Warnock is ready to change things around in a bid to help Leeds United make a late push for the play-off places.
Leeds beat Doncaster Rovers 3-2 on Saturday to move them back to within three points of the play-off places and despite watching the games from the stand with caretaker manager Neil Redfearn in charge, Warnock made a few changes to the side, which made a huge difference.
Robert Snodgrass was given a freer role in behind the centre forwards, rather than out on the wing and Andros Townsend was allowed to drift as Leeds turned round a two-goal deficit to win 3-2 in the dying seconds.
As well as changing the formation yesterday Warnock feels a few basic things just need changing to make Leeds a more successful team.
Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "I wanted to get Snodgrass in the hole somehow so we talked about what we were going to do with Andros Townsend etcetera and I thought we played a lot better with this system.
We let them go all over the show and I thought Browny (Michael Brown) did well when he came on, if I am honest, apart from his first touch.
I told Snodgrass at half time, we have to get you in the hole, because if you are a good team you put two men on him. He is the best player on the pitch and we have to get him in an area where he has the ball.
Little things like corners defending, we have everybody back first half. We might as well have two or three on the half way line, it is just the basics really.
They are very keen, they listen, and it won`t do them any harm today because they have won a game that really we should have got beat in had they got the third goal had of gone in.
Four or five days training next week will help. There are a lot of little basics. They are little things like; we have three men back when we are attacking. If we have one marking one, we only need two back, we could put an extra man in their box."
Neil Warnock saw the squad first hand today, when he took the side in their first training session since his appointment on Saturday.
Warnock will now prepare the side for his first proper game in charge when they travel to Portsmouth on Saturday.
