LUFC Snodgrass - It is the players fault

Leeds United midfielder Robert Snodgrass says the current position and form of the team is down to the players.

Leeds have slipped to eleventh in the championship table following a midweek 2-1 defeat at bottom of the table Coventry City.

Snodgrass admits the players have to do better and they have nobody to blame but themselves.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Snodgrass said, "There`s not really anything to say, apart from that it`s the players` fault. We as a team know we need to be better. We can`t sit around and blame anyone else. It`s down to us, the players. We know exactly what to expect in the Championship. It`s our second season here and we should know what to do.

"There`s enough talent here for us to go and win matches but it`s down to getting the mindset right - the mental approach to the game. You need a winning mentality and I don`t think we`ve got it right now. That`s what it takes to be up there at the top."

Leeds have won just three of their last eleven games in the championship and have recently sacked manager Simon Grayson after three years at the club.

Youth team coach Neil Redfearn has taken over on a temporary basis and will be in charge until at least the game with Doncaster Rovers this Saturday as Leeds continue to dwell on the appointment of a new manager.

Lee Clark is the current bookies favourite having been sacked by Huddersfield Town on Wednesday.
