LUFC White - We can still win promotion

Leeds United defender Aidan White believes the side can still win promotion this season despite suffering their sixth home defeat of the season against Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend.

The defeat to Brighton was Leeds second in a row at Elland Road and they have won just three of their last ten home games.

Despite their poor form recently, especially at Elland Road, White is still confident the side can gain promotion this season, saying the belief is still in the squad.

Speaking on the official website, White said, "The belief is still there, without doubt. Everyone is confident we can win promotion. That was our aim at the start of the season and nothing has changed."

Despite the defeat at the weekend, Leeds are still just four points outside the play off places with sixteen games remaining.

Leeds currently have 45 points and will probably need 9 wins from their remaining 16 games to have a realistic chance of finishing in the play-off places.

Last season, Leeds finished one place outside the play off places when they finished the season on 72 points, with Nottingham Forest taking the last play-off place on 75 points.

Leeds have already lost eleven games this season, just one fewer than the twelve they suffered during the whole of last season.
